Optimizing airflow is critical in today’s data center to maximize energy efficiency and minimize costs. The PANDUIT® Net-Access™ Cabinet System combines passive thermal management, superior cable management and inset structural frame to ensure proper heat dissipation for improved network performance and availability.

Switch Thermal Management

Typical network switch airflow is side-to-side. The CN Series Net-Access™ Cabinets optimize this airflow pattern for a hot aisle/cold aisle data center layout and high density deployments by utilizing superior cable management to keep intake air pathways clear and ducting to redirect the exhaust air to the hot aisle.

PANDUIT has worked closely with Cisco to optimize switch thermal performance and has achieved Cisco Compatible status for configurations of the CN Series Net-Access™ Cabinet including part number CN4-1 for the Catalyst 6509 switch and CN4-2 for the MDS 9513 switch. The cabinet configuration for the new Nexus 7018 switch consists of the CN3 cabinet, CN7018-EXT extensions to achieve the required cabinet width and depth, and CNAE7018 ducting.

Scalable Server Thermal Management

Traditional raised floor cooling systems typically deliver enough air to disperse 7 – 10 kW of heat per cabinet, provided that best cabling practices are employed (hot aisle/cool aisle layout, use of raised floor air sealing grommets and rack filler panels, etc.). The modular design of the CS Series Net-Access™ Cabinet provides a migration path for network stakeholders to manage increased heat loads over the life of the data center.

Exhaust System (For heat density 8 – 20 kW+)

The Net-Access™ Vertical Exhaust System channels hot air from within the cabinet directly into the data center plenum. This passive cabinet vent effectively and economically manages heat loads of 20 kW+/cabinet, eliminating data center hot spots generated by increased server densities.

Rear Door Heat Exchanger (For heat density 10 – 30 kW+)

The Net-Access™ Cooling Door provides reliable and cost-effective heat removal of up to 20kW / cabinet. Developed with IBM, this cooling door enables data centers to scale to very high server densities, reducing real estate costs and eliminating the need for additional CRAC units.
