PRESS RELEASE

Post‑Industrial Recycled Nylon 6.6 for High‑Performance Cable Management Solutions

Sustainable PIR Cable Ties for Demanding Industrial Applications

Frankfurt am Main, February 2026. Panduit introduces its new PIR (Post‑Industrial Recycled) cable ties, manufactured from up to 100% post‑industrial plastic waste and combining sustainability with the proven industrial performance of Nylon 6.6. Compared to conventional nylon cable ties, the PIR range reduces the carbon footprint by up to 36%—without compromising strength, durability, or safety. In this way, the U.S. family‑owned company Panduit supports end users in achieving their own ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) objectives while continuing to meet stringent technical requirements.

Manufactured from up to 100% post‑industrial recycled Nylon 6.6, the fastening solutions deliver the same quality and reliability associated with this established material. UV resistance, heat stabilization and an estimated service life of approximately ten years make these professional fastening components suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. Currently, only 9% of global plastic waste is recycled, yet by 2050 up to 12 billion tonnes of plastic could pollute the environment (source: UNEP – United Nations Environment Programme). As an everyday industrial component, PIR cable ties make a tangible contribution to improving this situation.

From a technical perspective, the cable ties impress with high impact resistance and excellent performance under extreme conditions. They are halogen‑free and designed for continuous operation at temperatures ranging from ‑60°C to +115°C. Tensile strength reaches up to 8,412 psi, while water absorption is limited to just 1.2% after 24 hours. In addition, the cable ties offer strong resistance to oils, lubricants and hydrocarbons.

The PIR portfolio covers a wide range of cable tie and fastening options—from miniature to light‑heavy cross‑section sizes—and is complemented by Panduit’s ergonomic installation tools such as the GTS‑E and GS4H‑E, as well as pneumatic systems that ensure controlled tensioning and clean cut‑off. Typical application areas include OEMs in transportation, electrification and industrial automation. The global cable tie market continues to grow strongly, increasing from EUR 1.43 billion in 2023 to EUR 1.52 billion in 2024, with a projected compound annual growth rate of 6.4% through 2032. Sustainable products such as PIR cable ties are a key driver of this growth.

Compared to competitors, Panduit offers a broader portfolio, UL‑validated recycled content and a clear positioning as a sustainability leader—setting new benchmarks for the industry.
