Panduit Honored in 2020 Cabling Installation & Maintenance Innovators Award

TINLEY PARK, Ill. — (October 2, 2020) — Panduit, a global leader in innovative electrical and network infrastructure solutions, was recognized today with four Cabling Innovators Awards in the 2020 competition. Cabling Installation & Maintenance bestows the Innovators Awards annually to the best products and projects in the industry.

Panduit received four awards, including a Platinum honor for our UC Davis Medical Center case study, a hospital ranked at the highest level in the annual CHIME “Healthcare’s Most Wired” survey. The UC Davis health system was looking to change patient treatment and care using technology, such as video visits and telehealth. Panduit and General Cable have been the sole provider of network infrastructure at UC Davis for 14 years. Today, General Cable’s GenSpeed 10 and Panduit connectivity is the standard for all network cabling projects.

UC Davis Data Center Architect Lopaka Gaspar said the Cabling Innovators Awards adds to the hospital’s distinction as a leader in medical technology. “This recognition highlights UC Davis Health IT as a leader in the healthcare information technology industry and validates the investments and designs of our IT systems improving outcomes for our clinicians and patients,” Gaspar says. “Having great partners like General Cable and Panduit helps us achieve this type of recognition.”

Panduit also received three Gold awards:

• HD Flex™ Zone Raised Floor Enclosure – a structured cabling solution that saves valuable real estate in the data center by allowing cable terminations below raised floors, which helps relieve congestion in racks and cabinets.
• HD Fusion Wall Mount Enclosure – a fiber cabling solution that houses, organizes, manages and protects cable to cable fusion splice connections, and comes in two different sizes to splice up to 3,456 fibers or 6,912 fibers.
• PatchRunner™ 2 Cable Management System – a physical infrastructure cabling solution that manages growing cable densities, larger network equipment, and increasing energy usage.
