Engineered for Real Outside Plant Environments
Fiber networks don’t live in ideal conditions. Closures are exposed to heat, cold, moisture, vibration, and physical strain – whether installed aerially, underground, or in pedestals and handholes.
Our new dome-style fiber splice closures are designed to perform consistently across these environments. A robust dome-to-base clamping system combined with advanced compressed gel sealing provides reliable environmental protection without requiring heat-shrink kits or multiple grommet sizes. The result is a more repeatable installation process and easier re-entry when network changes are required.
The closures are designed for easy re-entry, allowing technicians to access and modify splices without replacing the enclosure, reducing disruption and supporting long-term network evolution.
Built to Scale as Networks Grow
Legacy closures can make re-entry and network expansion more difficult, while today’s fiber networks must be ready to scale and expand.
The new fiber splice closure portfolio is available in medium and large configurations to support a range of applications, from neighborhood fiber to the home (FTTH) builds to higher-density distribution points:
- Medium closures support up to 144 single fibers or 432 ribbon fibers
- Large closures scale up to 432 single fibers or 1,728 ribbon fibers
Six round cable entry ports allow for straightforward additions of new cables or drops, while a modular tray system allows access to any splice without disturbing others, thus reducing the risk of accidental damage during maintenance or upgrades.
Installers can configure closures using snap‑in splice modules, single-fusion or ribbon trays, grounding options, and mounting accessories designed for aerial and underground deployment. This flexibility allows crews to tailor each closure to the job at hand without unnecessary components or wasted space.
For procurement and operations teams, that modular approach also means fewer part numbers to manage – helping reduce SKU sprawl, speed quoting, minimize ordering errors, and simplify inventory management across builds.
Reducing Long-Term Costs Starts at the Closure
Closures rarely fail dramatically on day one. Instead, poor closure performance shows up over time – through moisture-related attenuation, repeat service calls, extended outages, and dissatisfied customers.
Our new fiber optic splice closures are designed to help avoid those downstream costs. Impact‑resistant polymer housings, O‑ring sealing, and an IP68-rated design help ensure long-term protection of critical fiber assets. Hinged trays and re‑enterable construction enable efficient maintenance while minimizing disruption to live fibers.
