Panduit Expands Audio/Video Solutions

TINLEY PARK, Ill. (March 19, 2018) Panduit Corp., a leading global provider of network infrastructure solutions, is expanding its audio/video offering to support growing demands for A/V extension over twisted pair cable. Several new products will be introduced during 2018, including HDBaseT extender boxes and HDMI patch cords, both available today. Panduit’s plug and play HDBaseT extender boxes are the smallest on the market, save space, and maintain aesthetics by easily mounting under tables and behind monitors with included mounting ears. Unlike other extender boxes on the market, only one side (transmitter or receiver) requires a power supply, which transmits power to the other device for simplified installation.

“HDBaseT is becoming the standard for transmitting high-definition audio and video over category cabling,” said Mike McGrath, director of product management and engineering for Panduit’s Enterprise business. “We are excited to be able to further support those customers who are using HDBaseT in their buildings, and our partners who install A/V as part of the cabling system.”

The HDMI patch cords support HDMI high bit rate audio passthrough and are certified HDMI 2.0 compliant.

Both A/V offerings are ideal for use in classrooms, conference, huddle and training rooms, auditoriums, and digital signage.

In addition to these two new products, in-wall and in-table outlet boxes, ADA-compliant above floor raceway, USB patch cords, an HDBaseT wall plate transmitter, an HDBaseT receiver with audio de-embedding, and new pass-through faceplate inserts will all be available beginning mid-year. “A/V is no longer just projectors and screens in classrooms,” explained Amy Hacker, A/V product manager at Panduit. “It is a key component of today’s digital buildings, encompassing a wide variety of applications used in all types of organizations. We are excited to bring Panduit quality to new A/V systems.”
