Panduit Achieves Re-Certification for EPDs and HPDs

Third-party certifications help project developers achieve LEED certification

TINLEY PARK, Ill. – (May 2, 2022) – Panduit Corp. has achieved recertification of its Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) and Health Product Declarations (HPD) for a wide selection of copper cabling and connectors. Project developers can use EPDs and HPDs toward LEED certification.

Panduit first received EPDs on copper cables in 2016. Since that time, the company expanded EPDs to additional cables, jacks, plugs, and added HPDs for the same products. Panduit remains the only network infrastructure manufacturer to offer EPDs and HPDs on both cable and connectors.

“Sustainability is definitely a hot topic, and I’m proud that we can help customers meet some of their sustainability goals,” said Tom Walsh, vice president of Panduit Enterprise Business. “We pursued EPD and HPD certification in 2016 because we saw the value in giving our customers access to sustainable solutions. That still holds true today. We’re committed to sustainable solutions and helping our customers achieve sustainability in their projects, as well.”

Building projects can earn points toward LEED certification by installing at least 20 different permanently installed products from at least five different manufacturers, which are third-party certified to EPD and/or HPD. Certified products can contribute towards two LEED points; one for an EPD and one for an HPD.

A complete listing of all EPDs and HPDs can be found on the Panduit Certifications webpage.
