Our Environmental Sustainability Journey

Sustainability

When Panduit embarked on our Environmental Sustainability Initiative in 2019, we were not quite sure what to expect. We appreciated that our employees were committed to the environment and we took pride in knowing our largest manufacturing location, Panduit Costa Rica, earned Net Zero Carbon Certification. We also learned a lot from our LEED Gold Certified World Headquarters. Opened in 2010, this facility is a working laboratory for use of intelligent building technology to achieve sustainability goals. It was a good start.

To begin the next phase of our sustainability journey, we formed a steering team representing each business function, evaluated best practices from across our industries, and developed our vision, mission, and goals, as well as a cadence of accountability for sustainability projects. When we challenged our teams to identify sustainability opportunities, projects came pouring in and employees that were passionate about sustainability from across the organization stepped forward to help.  I was amazed at how much had already been accomplished. Visible progress, like conversion to LED lighting and office printer consolidation were standard practice. Not so visible was the long time use of more efficient technology in manufacturing and investment in product environmental impact testing and data sheets.

As we chart our path forward, we are putting the Power of Panduit to work and applying our Be Focused and Think Differently cultural beliefs and taking a customer-focused approach to sustainability. From the environmentally friendly design and packaging of our new FlexFusion™ Cabinet, to the introduction of bio-based materials in our products, to recycling projects that reduce waste, we are aligning our efforts to our customer’s sustainability objectives. We are taking specific actions to help us reach our goals and we could not be more excited about the efficiency gains, new product opportunities, and contributions to a sustainable planet that our journey will bring.

Please reach out to a Panduit representative, so we can join you on your sustainability journey and reference the Panduit 2021 Environmental, Social and Governance Report for more information.
